Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Utility Infrastructure Drawings: Develop precise and comprehensive drawings for utility networks such as water supply systems, sewage systems, electrical grids, and gas pipelines based on engineer and project manager specifications.
Utility Coordination: Collaborate with utility engineers, project managers, and external utility providers to ensure all drawings align with project requirements and adhere to industry standards.
As-Built Drawings: Update and create as-built drawings to accurately reflect modifications made during the construction and installation phases.
Compliance: Ensure all drawings comply with utility industry standards, safety regulations, and local codes. Integrate feedback from utility providers and stakeholders throughout the design process.
Site Surveys: Participate in site surveys and inspections to gather data and verify existing utility conditions, ensuring drawings accurately represent site conditions.
Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all drawings, revisions, and associated documentation. Ensure proper archiving and accessibility for future reference.
CAD Proficiency: Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D) to produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings of utility systems.
Quality Assurance: Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications before final submission.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Draughtsman, with at least 5 years dedicated to utility projects involving water, gas, electricity, and telecommunications.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, etc.).
Strong understanding of utility infrastructure design and related industry standards.
Familiarity with local codes, safety standards, and utility regulations.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in utility drawings.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to utility drawings and site conditions.
Teamwork: Capable of working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and coordinating with various stakeholders.
Time Management: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with utility companies or on utility infrastructure projects.
Certification in CAD software.
Knowledge of GIS software and applications.
Familiarity with 3D modeling software.
