Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement HSE Policies: Establish and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and standards in line with Saudi Arabian regulations and international best practices (OSHA, ISO, etc.).
Risk Assessments: Conduct HSE risk assessments specific to MEP activities such as electrical systems, HVAC, fire protection systems, and plumbing, identifying potential hazards, and ensuring effective risk mitigation strategies are in place.
Site Inspections & Audits: Perform regular site safety inspections, audits, and assessments to monitor compliance and identify potential safety hazards related to MEP installations and processes.
Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees, contractors, and subcontractors, focusing on specific MEP safety requirements, accident prevention, and emergency response.
Incident Management: Lead investigations for accidents, near misses, and incidents on MEP sites, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and communicated effectively.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all project activities comply with Saudi Arabian labor laws, safety standards, and environmental regulations, including GOSI and SFDA guidelines where applicable.
HSE Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE documentation, including risk assessments, safety logs, permits, and incident reports.
Subcontractor Management: Oversee and ensure that all subcontractors follow HSE guidelines and meet the project's safety standards.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans tailored to MEP project risks, including electrical fire safety, hazardous material handling, and confined space protocols.
Continuous Improvement: Promote continuous HSE improvement by staying updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and legislation. Lead initiatives to enhance safety awareness and performance.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with clients and relevant authorities on safety and environmental issues and present reports and updates regarding the project’s HSE performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in HSE management, with at least 5 years in MEP projects.
NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent certification in HSE management.
Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian HSE regulations and international safety standards (OSHA, ISO 45001, etc.).
Experience with risk assessment and incident investigation.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
